After college, I joined the police academy Redwood Center to receive training in becoming a peace officer. I had worked as a park aide at Humboldt Redwoods State Park, but being a ranger was what I truly aimed for. After completing my training, I was set to go! It was time to roll, and use what I learned from school and the academy to do the best I can. Well, that's just a short excerpt on me achieving my dream! It's never impossible to achieve your dreams if you work hard enough for them!

Becoming a Ranger..
I always knew I wanted to be involved in state parks. Ever since I was little, it was something I strived for. In high school I worked my butt off, volunteering and studying for school. I got into quite a few schools, but the ultimate decision came between Berkeley and Humboldt. Berkeley just didn't feel like the school for me, even though I was honored to have been accepted. So I accepted Humboldts offer, packed my bags, and moved from Los Angeles all the way up north to Arcata, CA. A 10 hour driving distance. Having never been there, my emotions ranged from super excited to super anxious and back to excitement. For the next four years, I made some life-long friends, changed my major from Forestry to Outdoor Recreation, and with the help of my teachers, family, and friends, I was able to graduate! Go Lumberjacks!
